Seattle 10/27- 10/29
Woke up in Seattle to find... SURPRISE.. rain!!! Got out the trusty umbrella and made the best of the day. Started off at the cool music/pop culture museum know as EMP-SFM (Experiences Music Project-Science Fiction Museum). Created by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, this venue features exhibits about music history and pop culture. Two main exhibits showcased memorabilia of Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix (both from Seattle). With home pictures and remnants of smashed guitars, the exhibits were really authentic, and had a personal touch. Another exhibit featured props from famous horror movies and explanation of what makes horror films so scary and why we love them!
With better weather the next day, we hopped on a duck boat for a tour of the city. Our driver, Capt. Sal T. Dog, had us laughing all the way from the Space Needle to Pike’s Place Market. In the market, we got lunch at Beecher’s Homemade Cheese, where you can watch the process in action. Before we left, we made sure to experience some quality local coffee, avoiding the Starbucks that appeared on almost every corner.
